RUBS (Ratio Utility Billing/Submetering) is an optional capability that may be included in BillMaster, and is typically used in a situation where there is a single master meter for an apartment complex or other property, within which tenants are billed according to an apportioned ratio.

Commonly, tenant shares are based on square feet, the number of occupants, or a combination of these two factors. There may also be a separate formula for winter or summer, depending on the season. In addition, there are often additional management and reporting distribution issues inherent in a Submetered application. BillMaster is equipped with the functionality to accurately calculate, bill, and report customer charges even in such complex special circumstances.
